Hi! My name is Andrea Kout (pronounced just like out with a K in front) and I am so excited to spend the year with you and your student! I love kindergarten and have wanted to teach it since I was a kindergartener myself. This is my third year at Heards Ferry and teaching kindergarten.
While I did not grow up in Sandy Springs, I am no stranger to the area. I grew up just 10 miles away, in East Cobb. I spent a lot of time in the area, especially when my grandparents lived on Riverside Drive. In fact, my uncle actually attended Heards Ferry as a child! I am a Double Dawg, having earned both my undergraduate and Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. While there, I also earned certificates in reading and gifted education, studied American Sign Language, and Minored in Theatre. Each of these have influences my teaching style and the way I run my classroom. In my free time, you can often find me with my family and friends, acting, or working with animals. I love animals and I'm sure your children will hear about my dog, Dempsey, and my cat, Socks. I volunteer and foster animals through Lifeline Animal Project. |
